Do gta online heists use story mode characters?

Grand Theft Auto Online is a separate online multiplayer component of Grand Theft Auto V. In this mode, players create and control their own customizable silent protagonist, rather than using the pre‑made protagonists (Michael, Franklin, Trevor) from the single‑player story. All cooperative missions, including the heists, are performed by the player’s character and other online teammates, not by the story mode characters. Thus, story mode characters are not used in GTA Online heists.
