Grand Theft Auto V features three story protagonists—Michael De Santa, Franklin Clinton, and Trevor Philips—who are playable only in the single‑player campaign. While Trevor does appear in Grand Theft Auto Online as an NPC, Rockstar Games does not provide the option to control any of the three main characters in the multiplayer mode. Players must create and customize their own avatar, known as the “Creator” character, to participate in GTA Online missions and activities.
