Grand Theft Auto Online is a separate multiplayer component of Grand Theft Auto V that offers its own roster of playable characters and missions. The game does not include the narrative protagonists Michael De Santa, Franklin Clinton, or Trevor Philips as playable or unlockable characters. These three figures are exclusive to the single‑player story mode of Grand Theft Auto V and cannot be accessed in the online mode.
