Krypton

Krypton was a planet located in a distant star system, known by its inhabitants as Krypton and orbited a red sun called Rao. For millennia, Krypton flourished as a beacon of science, philosophy, and culture, its people developing technologies that would appear miraculous to less advanced civilizations. Great cities of crystalline spires rose above oceans and sprawling plains, connected by advanced transit systems and governed by a council of the world's leading minds. The Kryptonians pursued knowledge in fields ranging from astrophysics to genetic engineering, believing that science held the key to transcending the limitations of mortality itself.

Yet beneath this veneer of utopia, Krypton harbored deep fractures. The ruling class grew isolated, hoarding scientific breakthroughs while the general populace remained placated by a carefully curated society. Genetic manipulation became commonplace, with bloodlines engineered for specific traits, though the ethical implications of such practices were largely ignored. The Kryptonian Science Council, led by figures such as the brilliant but arrogant Jor-El, maintained strict control over knowledge, believing that certain discoveries were too dangerous for the public at large. This culture of secrecy and suppression sowed the seeds of the planet's eventual downfall.

Tragedy struck when the planet's core became unstable, a consequence of centuries of unchecked scientific exploitation. Despite Jor-El's desperate warnings, the Council refused to believe that their paradise was doomed. As earthquakes shattered continents and the oceans boiled away, only a handful of infants were saved, most notably Kal-El, son of Jor-El, who was rocketed to Earth mere hours before Krypton exploded into cosmic dust. The survivors who remained faced the same fiery fate as their world, though their genetic legacy and stored knowledge survived through means such as the Fortress of Solitude and scattered outposts across the galaxy.
