Overview
Jujutsu Kaisen is a dark fantasy world where negative human emotions manifest as powerful, monstrous entities known as Cursed Spirits. To combat this supernatural threat, a select few gifted individuals, Jujutsu Sorcerers, harness their own life force to wield cursed techniques. The story follows Yuji Itadori, a young man who becomes the host for the King of Curses, Sukuna, and joins a school for sorcerers to protect the world from an impending doom.

In the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, the invisible energy born from negative human emotions, known as Cursed Energy, is a constant and dangerous presence. When this energy becomes too potent, it gives form to terrifying Cursed Spirits that prey on humanity. The only defense is the art of Jujutsu, a technique used by specially trained individuals, Jujutsu Sorcerers, to manipulate their own life force and exorcise these threats. The narrative is centered around the Jujutsu High schools, institutions dedicated to training these warriors. The protagonist, Yuji Itadori, is a teenager who, after consuming a finger of the ancient and malevolent King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna, becomes his host. To prevent Sukuna's resurrection and protect the world, Yuji must navigate the treacherous path of a sorcerer while containing the immense evil within him. The universe is defined by a rigid hierarchy of curses and sorcerers, with conflicts often revolving around powerful cursed objects, ancient pacts, and the fundamental question of what it means to be human in a world saturated with malice. The lore delves into the origins of cursed techniques, the nature of the afterlife, and the existence of a higher plane where the most powerful curses, the Special Grade Curses, originate, all set against a backdrop of modern Japan.
