Players navigate between parallel realities featuring different versions of familiar characters and locations.

The fabric of reality in the GTA V multiverse has been torn apart by an experimental quantum device built by a rogue aerospace engineer who once worked for the IAA. This catastrophic event has created dimensional rifts that allow multiple versions of the same world to exist simultaneously, each with its own unique timeline and set of rules. The sprawling cityscape of Los Santos now exists in dozens of variants - from a utopian metropolis where crime has been eradicated to a dystopian wasteland ruled by corporate overlords. The surrounding rural areas of Blaine County have similarly splintered, creating diverse landscapes ranging from pristine natural reserves to industrial hellscapes covered in toxic waste.
