Who played lex luthor in the dc extended universe?

The DC Extended Universe, which began with Man of Steel in 2013, has included characters such as Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman but has not featured Lex Luthor to date. Because he has not appeared, no actor has been cast in that role within the DCEU. Lex Luthor remains a prominent DC Comics character awaiting a possible future adaptation. Until a DCEU release includes him, the question of an actor remains unanswered.
