What is the plot of the nightmare before christmas?

The film centers on Jack Skellington, the ruler of Halloween Town, who stumbles upon the neighboring Christmas Town. Fascinated by the new holiday, Jack decides he can bring a fresh perspective to Christmas and becomes obsessed with celebrating it himself. His enthusiasm leads him to take on the role of Santa Claus, but his unconventional approach creates chaos in both towns.
