What is bhool bhulaiyaa about?

Bhool Bhulaiyaa (translated as Labyrinth) is a 2007 Indian Hindi-language psychological horror comedy film directed by Priyadarshan. The film is an official remake of the critically acclaimed 1993 Malayalam film Manichitrathazhu, which was written by Madhu Muttam and directed by Fazil. The source material for Manichitrathazhu was based on a 19th-century tragedy that occurred at Madhu's Alummoottil tharavad, an old traditional mansion located in Muttom near Haripad in central Travancore. This historical incident involving the mansion and its tragic events served as the foundation for the original story. The film was produced by T Series and shot under the working title of Cha. As a psychological horror comedy, the genre blends supernatural elements with comedic and dramatic storytelling, a characteristic signature of director Priyadarshan's filmmaking style.
