Do gta v characters transfer to online mode?

Grand Theft Auto V separates its single‑player story mode from its persistent online mode. In story mode you control three distinct protagonists—Michael De Santa, Franklin Clinton, and Trevor Philips—each with their own backstory and missions. When you launch GTA Online, you are presented with the option to create a brand‑new character with a custom appearance, name, and starting attributes. The game does not import any of the offline characters' identities, personalities, or progress into the online world. Consequently, any narrative developments, relationships, or specific character traits you experienced in story mode remain exclusive to that mode and do not influence your online gameplay experience.
