Do gta online characters retain their money from story mode?

GTA Online and the single-player story mode are fundamentally separate experiences. Grand Theft Auto IV's single-player campaign follows Niko Bellic's story in Liberty City, while GTA Online exists as a distinct multiplayer mode with its own progression system. Money earned in one does not carry over to the other because they are designed as separate game modes with independent save files and economies. Players must earn money separately in each mode through their respective gameplay activities.
