Can i play gta online with my story mode character?

Grand Theft Auto Online operates as a standalone multiplayer experience separate from Grand Theft Auto V's single-player story mode. While both games share the same world and some mechanics, Online does not allow players to transfer or use their story mode characters—Michael, Franklin, or Trevor—into the online component.
