Len Wiseman emerged as a distinctive voice in genre filmmaking with his 2003 debut feature 'Underworld,' a darkly stylish fusion of vampire and werewolf mythology that became a cult favorite and launched a successful franchise. The film showcased his fascination with sleek production design, moody blue-tinted cinematography, and balletic action sequences that drew comparisons to 'The Matrix.'
