Brad Bird

Brad Bird was born on September 11, 1957, in Kalispell, Montana, and grew up in Oregon where his passion for animation blossomed at an early age. After studying character animation at the California Institute of the Arts, Bird worked on several animated shorts before joining Pixar in 1991, where he contributed as an animator on 'Toy Story'. His directorial debut came with 'The Iron Giant' in 1999, a critically acclaimed animated feature that showcased his talent for crafting emotionally resonant stories with stunning visuals, though it initially underperformed at the box office before becoming a beloved cult classic. Bird's breakthrough came with 'The Incredibles' in 2004, which he wrote and directed for Pixar, earning him an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. The film was praised for its innovative animation, compelling superhero family drama, and homage to classic comic book aesthetics, establishing Bird as one of animation's foremost auteurs.
