Gi-Hun

Gi-hun grew up in a working-class neighborhood of Seoul, where his family struggled to make ends meet after his father's death. He worked long hours at a textile factory, but economic hardship forced him into debt and eventually led him to accept a mysterious invitation to a secret game.

The game, known as the Squid Game, pits participants against each other in a series of children's games that turn lethal. Gi-hun, driven by desperation and a chance to win a massive cash prize, volunteers to join, unaware of the deadly stakes.

Inside the arena, he must quickly adapt to the brutal rules, forming fragile alliances while confronting his own moral compromises. His internal conflict between survival instinct and lingering humanity becomes a central theme as he faces impossible choices.

After surviving multiple rounds, Gi-hun emerges as a reluctant leader, challenging the game's organizers and exposing their corruption. His journey underscores the harsh realities of poverty and the fragile nature of hope in a society that values wealth over life.
