Clint Barton

Clint Barton began his journey as an orphan who trained at the circus, where he mastered the art of archery under the tutelage of the Swordsman and Trickshot. His exceptional talent with a bow and arrow eventually drew the attention of Nick Fury, who recruited him into S.H.I.E.L.D. as a specialist operative. During his early missions, he was sent to eliminate Natasha Romanoff, the Black Widow, but instead recognized her potential as an ally and helped free her from her brainwashing, forging a deep bond that would last throughout their careers.

Assigned to monitor the Tesseract experiments during the Battle of New York, Barton fell under the influence of Loki's scepter and fought against his friends as a mind-controlled agent. Once freed from the enchantment, he rejoined the Avengers and continued serving as the team's grounded, human combatant among gods and super-soldiers. His unpowered status never diminished his effectiveness, and his quick wit and tactical mind made him indispensable in battles against Ultron, Thanos's forces, and countless other threats.

Following the Blip, Barton took a leave from heroics to live quietly with his family, but when his family was lost to Thanos's snap, grief drove him down a dark path as the violent vigilante known as Ronin, operating in Tokyo and dealing out brutal justice. His eventual reunion with Natasha set him on the road to redemption, culminating in the Time Heist and the climactic battle at the Vormir sacrifice, where he tried and failed to prevent her death. He passed the mantle of Hawkeye to Kate Bishop, ensuring the legacy of his skills and ideals would endure beyond his own time as an active hero.
